A spring like day

Todays weather was one of those days where it felt like early spring and everyone enjoying the sunshine. Well if you thought it was a mild day, then you are right. We were mainly in the upper 50`s to low 60`s this afternoon with Sammamish coming in at 61, Enumclaw 60, Kenmore 62, and Bellevue coming in with a high of 58. I myself here on Hollywood hill in Woodinville had a high of 60. But when riding my bike to Marymoore this afternoon, my indoor/outdoor thermometer read between 62 and 65 as shown by the second pic which reads pretty close to 65. So certainly a nice day. The frist pic was taken near Redmond.

In other news and a quick look at the 18zGFS for tomorrow, looks like showers should be over us tomorrow morning with on/off showers through the day as the rotating low send moisture in our direction under SW flow aloft. In fact, current Seattle radar shows VERY light showers over the SW corner of the WA caost. So should see some noticably cool temps tomorrow as well as into Monday.

  1. If you don't mind, I'll lurk over here instead of over on the Cliff Mass blog. I snagged a decent photo of some small wave-like clouds today--how can I upload it? And kick me off your thread if I am a pain in the neck. Cliff is too polite to throw an old forecaster off his thread, but say the word if I am a nuisance.

  2. Mike, the best thing do is put your photo(s) over in a photo hosting site like flickr, photobucket and then post the site link to where we can see the pics at the site.

  4. I like hiking as well on nice/mild/ sunny days. Maybe next month I`ll take some spins(bike rides) up to Tiger Mountain. Yes I do ride there, and hike up there and then ride back home.

Guess it might be a while before we see more nice days like we had today.

Seeing the latest inferred, it looks the first bands of moisture are starting stream inland, while what appears to a barocyclonic(think that is the correct term) leaf band over California as this looks to the PineApple express down there.

  6. Thanks Andy, I will check out flickr or
photobucket. Thanks too for eastside max temp obs yesterday, offshore flow was a notch stronger than expected, so forecast highs were a notch too cool over there--verification is important. Keep up the good work, obs are perhaps the most useful thing in meteorology.
