A little comment regarding weather/anonymous users

Okay...

I make one comment about the weekend weather this afternoon, and already two anons on Cliffs blog have shot me down because of it. I know it`s Cliff`s blog and he does excellent job of providing us info when time allows. And I`m glad he take time to show us any info he has. But think to really minimize the users ''hiding in the dark'', that the anon user feature should be turned off. This I think would really help in seeing who is actually posting rather than trying to guess or wonder who is. And think those anon users should keep quite when it comes to making bad comments about someones interpretation of the weather a couple days out(Like me, who likes to say what the weather could do a few days out.) Like anyone else on his blog, I should be able to at least say what my take is on the weather a day or two out. I mean, should I be shot down by anon`s users? No of course not! At least on my blog, the anon user feature is turned off and I see who is posting. It kinda hurts when ya get shot down because you make one small comment about the weather a couple days or so out.

  1. Andy, I for one have appreciated all the diverse weather comments that everyone leaves on Cliff's blog. I'm not sure what was bugging 'Anonymous' but I sure wish s/he would keep their comments 'on-track' and quit sniping at others.

  2. Raincityi...

I dont know either, but they the few anons need to stop! All that bad criticism makes me feel like I should`nt be a part of his blog like the rest of the non-anons on there who share their wonder weather reports, ect.

    You have other thoughts?

  3. Andy, I think that they are just jealous. What else could it be? Anyways, how does the long range look for snow? Thanks.

  4. Don't be a glutton for punishment--sometimes folks don't want to hear what you have to say. I've been there--my gut reaction is to speak out even more, and that makes it worse. Set a limit for yourself, say, three posts a week on the Cliff Mass blog. Your posts will be higher quality if they are fewer--and you will have time to spellcheck and go over your grammer and such.

  5. Chill for today, at least, and remember, it's not you, it's them.
Myself, I'm hoping that Cliff pulls those entries, but I haven't figured out how to phrase a comment for his blog that won't contribute to the problem. I suspect I'm not the only one who feels that way, either.
I don't consider your comments disruptive, and I guess all I can suggest is that you post when you have something to contribute, and ignore the whiners. Criticism is never fun to take, and it is especially frustrating when it is as pointless as today's was. You'll get further by disregarding their comments than by retorting.
    Hope that helps ;-)

  6. Andy, it's not just the Anon posters. Cliff has even told you that your forecasting makes him uncomfortable. It's unclear to other readers exactly who you are and whether you're in some way affiliated with him.

No one minds you commenting as long as you stick to the topic at hand, or just post your CURRENT conditions. I don't see why this is made into such a big deal when it's really a simple concept.

  7. Thanks for all your comments guys, and at least here on my blog I can see whos posting and giving best and true to the heart advice. Perhaps I should`nt post as much over there, but he does bring a lot to his blog. My guess is that anons have nothing better to do that to pick on certain folks just to put them down. And thats wrong!

Anyway guys, Feel free to keep posting comments/ questions/ thoughts, ect, on here.

  8. Brett, to answer your question, the latest GFS models and EURO/GEM show a cool and showery trough dropping down over us from the GOA(Gulf of Alaska). And right now, the WRF-GFS does put a FEW spotty areas of snow in the south sound and what looks to be the foot hills of the western side of the Olympics and maybe northern WA coast. Other than that, looks mainly like the Cascades could pick up more snow later next week sometime. We`ll see though.

  12. I enjoy your blog, forget about the losers who hide behind the "Anonymous" moniker. They are cowards, and trouble makers. They should be banned from posting. Like someone else said, they are most likely just jealous. Keep up the good work, I read daily!

  13. Yeah I agree, DJ. More than likely, there out to cause trouble, and trouble they should be causing!

    Thanks for comments.

If any of ya want to make comments about the latest weather models, feel free to do so.

  14. Andy ~ Fluffyblue has a great point! Cliff is the one that suggested that if you want to post your forcasts to start your own blog. I, personally, don't have a problem with your posting comments &/or forcasts on his blog. If I don't want to read them, I don't. The problem I have is when a question is directed to Cliff, on his blog, and you answer. That's where I say you need to tone it down a little. Otherwise, yes, you should be able to comment on Cliffs forcasts, or even add a little of your own opinion....but let Cliff answer the questions directed to him on his blogs.

  15. Windlover--I agree with your first point about choosing to read what you want. If you want to read Cliff's comments only than do that. There are a number of questions asked on Cliff's Blog but even he has admitted that he can't answer all of them. I've tried to answer a few as well if I know the answer. Same thing for Andy, he's just trying to help share his knowledge. Otherwise people may not get their answer. Does that make sense?
And I have to say, thank goodness for the end of the Anons, some have been VERY annoying.

  16. I guess I got removed from cliffs blog on this comment. I was just pointing out the fallowing...... "Cliff you might have opened the door to feedback a little bit when you said metro was incompetent and people should be relived of duty. Hey I understand, but you can't expect no responses. Just a thought. I don't know if that's what you mean by "tired of this business""....

Hey I am Josh and not a anon. I will stick my self out there. If you guys think I am overboard let me know. I usually keep it to weather. OK that's enough from me. Nice blog Andy. I think I will fallow it for a wile.

  17. Weathernerd and Josh... thanks for the comments. Yeah, I understand it`s Cliff`s blog, but guess it`s to easy to be adding your own tid-bit/info what the models say or what ever the case may be. But hey, I like his blog. :o)

Josh, sorry to hear to got removed from Cliffs blog. I don`t see why you 'got the boot'. Think your comment seems fine to me.
